AL NOOR CELEBRATES EXCELLENT CAMBRIDGE RESULTS

Al Noor International School held its IGCSE, AS and A LEVEL Graduation Ceremony at the Gulf Convention Centre on 29 November, 2014.  It was a magnificent event and an occasion for Al Noor students, parents and officials to celebrate the excellent Cambridge results obtained in June 2014.

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Bin Yousif Al Mutawa, Undersecretary for Education & Curriculum Affairs, Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Bahrain.  He handed out the graduation certificates, together with Mr Ali Hassan, the school’s Founder Chairman.  The function was also graced by the presence of officials from the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Education, officials from the diplomatic corps, other dignitaries and parents.

The School Chairman, Mr Ali Hassan, congratulated the students on their accomplishments and wished them success in their future endeavours.  He thanked the Head Teachers, Coordinators and teachers of the school for the time and energy they devoted to the education of the students.

The Principal, Mr Rashid Mandi, praised the outstanding results obtained by the IGCSE, AS and A Level students and mentioned the school’s achievements during the course of the past academic year.

Out of a total of 373 students who received their certificates, 165 were from the IGCSE section,109 from AS Level and 99 from A Level.  More than fifty percent of the students who wrote the IGCSE examinations obtained A*’s, A’s and B’s.  KHADIJA ABDULHALIM HASAN HASSOUNA and PATRICK KYLE HERNANDEZ JUAN obtained the best results in the IGCSE examinations achieving A*’s in all 7 subjects.

The following students achieved the best results with a percentile of 100% (GPA =4) in all 7 subjects: ASYA YUSUF ABDULRAZAQ AL KOOHEJI (6A*s  & 1A), ZAINAB JAWWAD (6 A*s  & 1 A), ANNE CHALINDRI SUSHANI KURUKULASURIYA (5 A*s  & 2 A’s), QISTINA MARSYA AZIZ ZAINAL (5 *s  & 2 A’s), ZAINAB AZEEM (5 A*s  & 2 A’s),  ABDULRAHMAN KHALID ABDULRAHMAN ALRAEE (3 A*s  & 4 A’s), FARAH WAEL WAGIH (2 A*s  & 5 A’s), SHARIF BAHAUDDIN ABDULHAMEED FETAIHA EBRAHIM(2 A*s  & 4 A’s), SALMA HESHAM MOHAMED MAHMOUD ( 7A’s).

Other top achievers in the IGCSE exams were: HAMAYUN AZIZ (6 A*s),SARA JAAFAR HASAN HABIB MOHAMED (6 A*s)MARYAM RASHID ALMOOSA (5 A*s &1 A), KENZA QASSIM BEN JEMIA (5 A*s & 1 A), RASHID ANDALEEB GHULAM HUSAIN KARMUSTAJI (5 A*s &1 A), MEGAT FARIS ASYRAF BIN AZNIR(5 A*s &1 A),  YASMIN SAEED MADAN(5A*s), NAIM NAIMOGLU (4A*s & 1A), SHAFIN RASHID KAZI(3 A*s & 3 A’s), TAHOORA FATIMA SIDDIQUI(2 A*s &c4 A’s), NOOR TALIB MOHAMED ALI ALI(2 A*s & 4 A’s), ABDULLA FAHEEM ABDULLA ABDULRAHIM(6 A’s), SARA AHMED MUKHTAR MOHAMED(6 A’s).

The following AS Level students obtained straight A’s in all three subjects:

ABDULLAH MUHAMMED QUADIR, A.RAHMAN OMAR AL HENNAWI, ABDUR REHMAN SARWAR, MARAM MAGDI MOHAMMED ABDULRAHMAN, MERVINTH JEROME JULIAN, MUHAMMAD AIZAZ, AYSHA MASOOD AHMED ALBASTAKI, FADHEL ABBAS ABDULLA ARAFAT, HEBA AHMED YOUSIF ALI ABDULLA, HUSAIN REDHA HUSAIN MERZA,RAWAN MOHAB ABDELHAMEED ABDELATIF, MUHAMMAD AMMAR SIDDIQUI, PIUMI GANGANA JAYASEKARE, AYUSH SUJAY UCHIL and FATIMA MAHMOOD MOHAMMED.

AIMA SOHAIL (3 A*s,1 A), ATHUL SIVARAM PULIMOOTTIL(3 A*s,1 A), AYA TAREK MOUSTAFA MOHAMED (3 A*s),  DUAA MAHMOOD DARWISH(3 A*s) and  YUSUF AHMED MUKHTAR MOHAMED MUKHTAR (3 A*s) were the top achievers in the A Level examinations in 2014.   The following very good symbols were achieved by BADER ADEL MOHAMED SALEH MOHAMED AMEEN (2 A*s, 1A),RAWAA JAFFAR MOHAMED AL SAYEGH  (2 A*s, 1 A), SALWA EMTEYAZ AHMED MUKHTAR (2 A*s, 1 A),  USMAN GHANI ABDUL GHANI (2 A*s, 1 A), FATHIMA RAZFA RUWAIS(1 A*, 2 A’s), RISHAM MOHAMMAD NAEEM (1 A*, 2 A’s), WALAA MOHAMED HUSAIN SALMAN RADHI (1 A*,2 A’s), NAWAL KAISER SHAHZAD NAZIER (3 A’s) and STEFFY ELSA PRASAD(3 A’s). This represents the best results in the history of the school.  The results achieved by the AS and A Level students were quite remarkable considering the fact that many of them passed with distinction.

Dalal Amin Mohammed Sultan Yousuf and Jonathan Craig Cardoza delivered the valedictory speeches on behalf of the IGCSE and AS/A Level students respectively.  Jonathan craig  said that the certificates they had received demonstrated that they had developed a strong sense of responsibility, which will enable them to persevere and never waiver from their course of action. Dalal Ameen thanked the school’s teachers for their unwavering faith in them and for equipping them with the skills to face the challenges they will face on leaving the school.

In addressing the audience, the School Director, Mr Muhammad Mashood, reminded the students that the ceremony symbolises the beginning of their further studies.  He told the students that there is always more to do, more to learn and more to achieve, irrespective of how much they have done, or of how successful they have been in the past.

The Graduation Ceremony was a memorable, meaningful event which will always be treasured by the graduates and those who came out to support them.
